Below is the schedule for the day and some events associated with Sahuarita Pecan Festival.
The Seventh Annual Pecan Classic & Nut Run
8:00 am – 15k & 5k Run
10:00 am – Nut Run – Family Fun Run/Walk through the orchard

9:00 am – 5:00 pm – Heritage Tent – Come see native food crops displayed, historical photos and watch how Native American basket weaving is staying alive!
9:30 am – 4:00 pm – Community Food Bank Harvest Demonstration in the Orchard – Bring your non-perishable food items or pay $3.00 per person to enjoy the horse drawn hay wagon into the orchard to see how we harvest pecans.
12:00 pm – 4:00 pm – Power from the Past Tractor Pull
Children’s Area 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Come bounce on the gravity jump, bounce houses, take pictures with your friends and see what the Walden Grove High School Robotics team is up to.
Start Times: Pecan Classic – 8:00am | Fun Run – 10:00am
Cost: Pecan Classic 15k & 5k – $45 10/1 to race day (chip timing) | Nut Run – $15 12 & under, $20 13 & over
Cost: $10 (includes 1 lbs bag of Green Valley Pecans)
Details: The Sahuarita Pecan Pie Contest is sponsored by Mama’s Hawaiian Barbeque in Sahuarita’s Fry’s Marketplace. $10 entry fee can be turned into the Mama’s Hawaiian Barbecue (Sahuarita). You can print out registration form online and drop off at Mama’s Hawaiian Barbeque (Sahuarita). Winners will be announced at 2 p.m. on main stage.
Prizes: Gift certificates and pecans will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Entrants will receive recognition on Facebook, website and during the judging November 14.
