4TH ANNUAL NUT RUN 5K AT GREEN VALLEY PECAN ORCHARDS SET FOR APRIL 16

SAHUARITA, Ariz. – Green Valley Pecan Company is hosting the fourth annual Nut Run 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, April 16, 2016. The race begins at 8:00 a.m. at the Green Valley Farm, starting near the Pecan Store parking lot. Registration, bib pickup, and transition area opens at 7:00 am. Discounted prices of $25 for adults and $20 for those 17 and under are available until March 31; cost is $30 for all participants starting April 1. Free t-shirts guaranteed for entries received by April 10. All ages are welcome; no dogs allowed on the course. The Nut Run 5K Run/Walk is the first of three races in the “Orchard Series,” which takes runners through Green Valley Pecan Company’s pecan orchards. These races offer participants a unique inside look at the farm by running under the trees on dirt roads and trails. In addition to a free race t-shirt for those registered by April 10, participants will receive a 10 percent discount at the Green Valley Pecan Store, and the top three finishers in each age division will receive awards.
The Pecan Store will have modified hours for Saturday, April 16, opening early at 8:00 a.m. and closing at 5:00 p.m.
